Job summary

Fleet Data Centers seeks a Principal Structural Engineer to lead the design, development, and implementation of efficient, scalable data center structures. You will collaborate across disciplines to deliver robust, sustainable systems for cloud operations spanning multiple regions.

The role requires a deep technical background in structural engineering, plus architecture and civil disciplines, with a focus on sustainability, codes, and data center performance. Denver-based with travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or related field; master's or Ph.D. preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in Structural Engineering, with 8+ years in data center design/operations.
• Proven track record delivering large-scale data center projects.
• Extensive experience with software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla.
• Expertise in sustainability, energy efficiency and cost-saving measures for data centers.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Analytical skills with KPI definition and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Create building and site structural drawings.
• Review due diligence and drive project requirements.
• Lead design and development of structural design for large-scale data centers.
• Provide structural engineering design oversight throughout the project lifecycle.
• Create and track metrics related to cost and quality.
• Drive sustainability initiatives.
• Manage large-scale, multi-site projects across regions.
• Collaborate with architecture, civil, electrical, mechanical, and operations teams.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors to ensure quality and compliance.
• Act as main contact for structural decisions with senior leadership.
• Ensure designs comply with regulations and environmental requirements.
• Refine design standards for consistency across campuses.
