Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Sr. Structural Engineer (Civil) to join the critical infrastructure team in Hawthorne, CA. You will design, build, activate and maintain advanced manufacturing facilities and support orbital launch capability for the world’s largest rocket.

You will lead engineers and manage design, analysis, drawings, and contracts, ensuring field inspections and on-site problem solving, with a strong focus on safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering.
• 5+ years of professional experience in designing or building structural infrastructure.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-disciplinary engineers and third party engineers through all phases from civil/structural engineering to commissioning.
• Perform civil and structural design and analysis for steel and concrete.
• Develop drawings, calculations and reports for aerospace, industrial and commercial projects.
• Write, negotiate and manage construction contracts with subcontractors across multiple disciplines.
• Manage the civil and structural aspects of construction projects.
• Interact with contractors, fabricators, owners and clients.
• Provide onsite engineering inspections and field observations.
• Resolve design and construction conflicts in the field.
• Ensure compliance with standards, codes and specifications.
