Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required or equivalent.
• Experience at an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm.
• Active participation in employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical expert with recognized authority in structural engineering as it relates to projects.
• Independently coordinate the work of the structural design team from schematic design through the design development and contract document phases of a project.
• Collaborate as part of a multi‑disciplinary team to lead the production of the structural deliverables for projects.
• Analyze and design components of the superstructure for building projects.
• Mentor and train structural interns and EITs within the department and across business groups.
• Establish meetings and participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance.
• Participate in design development and contract document work sessions at project site in conjunction with the Project Manager and other disciplines.
• Coordinate workload throughout the design phases to complete the documents on schedule.
• Perform construction administration tasks such as submittal review and RFI responses.
• Coordinate and assist with affected disciplines and incorporate agreed-upon changes into project documents.
• Write and edit structural specifications and complete necessary calculations.
