Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer in our Honolulu, HI office to lead structural design and analysis across multiple projects. You will perform data-driven analyses, oversee construction plans, and collaborate with engineers, architects, planners, and other professionals to deliver compliant, durable structures.

The role emphasizes mentoring junior staff, applying advanced modeling techniques, and ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory compliance across public and private sector

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
• 5 to 7 years of relevant post-education experience.
• Engineer in Training Certification.
• Proficient knowledge of structural engineering principles.
• Experience with design and construction management.
• Working knowledge of structural and civil laws, codes, and permits.
• Ability to perform technical calculations and interpret plans.
• Project management experience on small to mid-size projects.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to guide junior engineers and lead teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance and guidance for due diligence, investigation, remediation, and construction of buildings and infrastructure.
• Develop construction plans and specifications for projects in Honolulu and beyond.
• Incorporate advanced modeling and design standards to ensure safety and functionality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute multiple projects concurrently.
• Review site conditions, perform analysis, and ensure conformance with permits and regulations.
• Prepare data visualizations, reports, and 2D/3D illustrations for findings.
• Maintain QA/QC standards and support training of entry-level engineers.
• Lead inspections, cost estimation, and material/labor quantity analyses.
