Job summary

WSP is seeking a Lead Structural Engineer in Honolulu, HI to join the Property and Buildings Team. You will lead design and analysis for buildings and infrastructure, mentor engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex challenges.

You will develop construction plans, perform code analyses, and ensure safety and compliance, delivering project success for multi-site assignments while coordinating with clients and regulatory bodies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering required.
• 7 to 10+ years of post-education experience in engineering and prior structural/civil design experience.
• Engineer in Training Certification required.
• Proficiency in structural engineering principles, design/build processes, and applicable regulations.
• Experience with design and construction management on rehabilitation and new design projects.
• Knowledge of structural/civil construction laws, codes, and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead professional structural engineering work, research, and inspections of site conditions.
• Develop construction plans and specifications.
• Incorporate advanced modeling and design standards for safety and functionality.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and planners on multiple projects.
• Provide guidance to junior engineers and ensure QA/QC compliance.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations with findings and recommendations.
