Job summary

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Structural Engineer to collaborate with Architects and engineers on higher education, commercial, federal, municipal, and industrial projects. You will contribute to design development, perform code-based calculations, and help deliver projects within the Buildings team.

The role emphasizes BIM using Revit, mentoring junior staff, and coordinating with a cross-disciplinary team to ensure quality and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent required.
• Licensed Professional Engineer status is required.
• Experience with structural design and building codes.
• Strong knowledge of multiple construction types (steel, concrete, wood, masonry).
• Ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate within a project team.

Responsibilities

• Develop structural design through sketches, models, diagrams and details.
• Perform design calculations per code and client requirements.
• Collaborate with the project team for design and project management.
• Mentor junior engineers and EITs on structural design tasks.
• Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and support contract admin tasks.
• Contribute to proposals for projects of varying size and complexity.
• Utilize BIM in developing 3D models and provide markups for the team.
