Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in structural, civil engineering, or related discipline.
• 5+ years of progressive engineering experience in operations, design, maintenance, or construction.
• Strong passion for high-performing buildings, sustainability, and historic preservation.
• Ability to direct and guide a group through task completion to attain goals.
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to work with diverse personalities.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and ability to produce results independently.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Knowledge of engineering economic evaluation for cost-benefit analysis.
• Familiar with design & construction guidelines creating standards for relevant disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support project development and perform design/construction reviews for compliance with GU Standards and best practices for building envelope, structural, and historic preservation.
• Identify and correct deficiencies to optimize building envelope performance and structural/architectural maintenance.
• Train and inform maintenance staff on structural and building envelope best practices.
• Develop, enhance, and track preventive maintenance for envelope performance and historic preservation.
• Assess building inventory to develop capital plans and oversee project implementations.
• Create and maintain design standards and specifications for building envelope, structural, and architectural divisions.
