Job summary
Bennett & Pless in Nashville, TN is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead a team in the design and analysis of building structures across manufacturing, data centers, commercial, and historic projects.
The role emphasizes mentoring junior staff, producing calculations, coordinating with architects and contractors, and advancement toward specialist or leadership paths. PE/SE licenses and strong software proficiency are required.
Qualifications
- PE license and/or SE license required or active pursuit.
- Minimum 8 years of structural engineering experience with emphasis on building design.
- Proven leadership or people management experience preferred.
- Experience with a variety of materials (steel, concrete, masonry) for low- to mid-rise structures.
- Strong design and analysis capability with structural software proficiency.
- Working knowledge of Revit preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a structural engineering team across multiple projects.
- Oversee design calculations, construction documents, and shop drawings.
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Perform QA/QC reviews and ensure client expectations and quality standards.
- Drive project delivery and client communication toward successful outcomes.
