Job summary

Bennett & Pless is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join its Charlotte office and lead complex projects from concept through completion. You will manage design, analysis, and coordination across multiple market sectors with a focus on quality and timely delivery.

Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor's degree in civil/structural engineering or related field.
PE license required.
10+ years of structural engineering experience.
Experience leading projects and teams while balancing priorities and deadlines.
Strong written and verbal communication to engage clients and teams.
Experience designing steel and concrete structures, including low- to mid-rise buildings.
Proficiency with Revit and structural analysis/modeling software.

Responsibilities

Lead design and analysis of structural systems for new construction, renovation, and adaptive reuse across multiple sectors.
Manage structural projects and teams, ensuring delivery within codes, budgets, and schedules.
Prepare and review structural calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports.
Coordinate with clients, architects, contractors, and project partners through all design phases.
Perform site visits and structural assessments during construction milestones.
Develop cost-effective engineering solutions and respond to RFIs.
Mentor and oversee junior engineers and designers with technical guidance.
