Job summary

Traffic, Planning, and Design, Inc. is seeking an experienced structural engineer to perform reviews for locally sponsored projects, including bridges, culverts and retaining walls, and to participate in structural design activities.

The ideal candidate has at least 8 years of Civil Engineering experience with a PA PE license preferred and demonstrated ability to lead design teams, analyze field data, prepare computations, and coordinate with clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering required.
• PA PE license preferred; PennDOT design experience preferred.
• Experience supervising design teams on bridge projects.
• Experience with MicroStation and AutoCAD for design documents.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Review structure submissions from concept through letting.
• Provide SME guidance to clients in structural engineering.
• Prepare design computations, quantity estimates, and construction costs.
• Perform superstructure, substructure, foundation, and geometric design tasks.
• Assist in field data analysis, reports, maps, and drawings.
• Prepare or modify reports, specifications, plans, and schedules.
• Use CAD software to prepare engineering documents.
• Support business development with project research and field reconnaissance.
