Job summary

SRF Consulting Group, Inc. is seeking a full-time Structural Engineer / Design Lead to design and manage structural engineering for public infrastructure.

The role may be based in Minneapolis, MN, Fargo, ND, or Madison, WI, with travel for bridge inspection and load rating work. You will provide technical leadership, develop construction plans, and mentor junior staff while ensuring quality procedures and compliance with codes.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering with emphasis in structural engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer or the ability to obtain within 6 months.
• 6+ years of Structural Engineering experience in bridge design.
• Experience on a variety of state/local projects.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of structural designs and engineering analyses for projects of varying size and complexity.
• Provide technical leadership in the preparation and review of construction plans, specifications, and design documents to ensure compliance with codes and client requirements.
• Oversee construction administration activities, including coordinating field inspections and resolving design-related issues.
• Direct the preparation of engineering reports, quantity estimates, design details, and contract documents while mentoring junior staff.
• Lead bridge inspection and load rating efforts, which will require travel.
• Ensure SRF's quality procedures are maintained for all work.
• Additional duties as assigned.
