EirEng Consulting Engineers Ltd in Bath is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead complex projects across logistics, residential, retail and commercial sectors. Based in our Bath office (with Dublin collaboration), you will manage junior engineers, coordinate design teams, and guide projects from concept through to delivery.

Applicants should have at least six years of consultancy experience and Chartered Engineer status with IStructE or ICE.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple projects across delivery, QA, finances, programme and staffing.
• Mentor junior staff and act as technical reviewer of designs.

• Use 3D modelling to analyse and design structures and mentor others.
• Prepare reports, specifications and sketches communicating design principles.
• Coordinate with internal/external teams and clients; attend meetings.
• Conduct site visits and surveys; represent the firm to clients.

Senior Structural Engineer – Bath

Opportunity To Join Our Dynamic And Friendly Team Of Engineers And Technicians As a Senior Structural Engineer, Based In The Bath Office. You’ll Likely To Have Gained At Least 6 Years’ Consultancy Experience And Have Achieved Chartered Engineer Status With The IStructE Or ICE. Ideally, You’ll Have The Attributes And Motivation To Learn And Grow With The Aim Of Joining The Senior Management Team In The Medium Term And Developing The EirEng Team And Brand. From The Off, We’ll Expect You To Manage Junior Engineers And Work Alongside More Senior Colleagues In Both Our Bath And Dublin Offices On All Stages Of The Structural Design Of Projects In Logistics, Residential, Retail, And Commercial Sectors At a Wide Range Of Scales. This Will Include:

• Managing multiple projects in terms of technical delivery, quality assurance, finances (fees and invoicing), programme delivery and collaborating with and resourcing other staff accordingly (junior engineers and CAD technicians).
• Mentoring junior staff and providing a technical reviewing role of designs produced by more junior staff.
• Developing and managing structural engineering designs in steel, concrete and timber; including steel portal frames, mezzanine structures, composite structures, connection design, muti storey structures, floor slabs, foundations, and retaining walls.
• Using 3D structural modelling software to analyse and design structures including mentoring more junior staff in the use of same.
• Preparing reports and specifications.
• Preparing sketches by hand and using software to communicate design principles.
• Working closely with the team of internal of engineers and technicians to prepare drawings and other project deliverables.
• Managing the project deliverables process.
• Checking and reviewing of engineering designs and deliverables.
• Liaising, collaborating, and coordinating with both internal and external project team members and Clients.
• Carrying out site visits and surveys.
• Representing EirEng externally by attending design team and client meetings both in person and remotely.
