Job summary

EAPC Architects Engineers is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer in Saint Paul, MN to lead structural design, detailing, and project coordination across disciplines. The role involves mentorship of EITs, stamping work, and coordinating with CAD/Revit teams on drawings for new/renovated buildings.

Requirements include a BSCE from an ABET-accredited program, PE license, and 8+ years of experience with steel, concrete, masonry, and wood.

Responsibilities

• Provide structural design, detailing, and calculations for all project phases
• Coordinate with architecture, mechanical, civil disciplines
• Edit and write structural specifications
• Perform feasibility studies and cost estimates as needed
• Mentor EIT staff
• Direct CAD/Revit teams for drawings
• Review shop drawings and respond to RFIs
• Conduct site visits to verify conditions
• Assist in budgets, schedules, and proposals

Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Structural Engineer who is eager to advance their career with an award-winning, full-service design and consulting firm!

At EAPC, our team of architects, engineers, interior designers, construction managers, and other professionals work together to create stunning structures and designs for optimum performance.

As a Senior Structural Engineer at EAPC, you will:

• Provide structural design, detailing, and calculations as required for all phases of the design of new buildings and structures as well as additions to and renovations of existing buildings and structures.
• Coordinate structural designs with other disciplines such as architectural, mechanical, civil, etc.
• Edit and write structural specifications.
• Perform structural investigations and/or feasibility studies including the writing of reports and providing cost estimates when required.
• Provide mentorship/training to EIT-level staff
• Provide direction to CAD/Revit specialists as required to complete structural drawings.
• Perform construction administration activities such as the review of material shop drawings, responding to contractor RFIs and construction questions, construction site visits, etc.
• Perform site visits as required to field verify existing conditions, dimensions, elevations, etc.
• Assist project managers in the development of internal design budgets and schedules as required.
• Assist the department manager in determining anticipated project scope, deliverables, fees, etc. as required to complete proposals to provide structural engineering services to external clients

Qualifications:

• Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
• Registration as a Professional Engineer
• Minimum 8 years of demonstrated experience in the design and detailing of buildings and structures utilizing steel, concrete, masonry, and wood
• Knowledge of relevant building codes related to the structural design of buildings and structures
• Proficient with structural design software such as RAM, RISA, Enercalc, or similar programs
• Experience mentoring/training structural EITs
• Demonstrated ability to sign and stamp individual work as well as review and stamp the work of other structural engineers or EITs
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills as well as interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Proficient with MS Office Suite
• Valid driver's license
• Able to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship

The position will report directly to the Structural Department Manager and will work as an integrated member of a multi-discipline, in-house team of engineers, architects, and drafting technicians.

Wage Range: $100,000- $125,000/yr. The listed pay range represents the company's good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum base rate of pay for this position at the time of posting. The selected candidate's compensation will be determined based on their work location, qualifications, relevant experience, operational needs, demonstrated performance over time, and internal pay alignment.
