Job summary

Bensonwood Homes is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Construction Documentation team in Walpole, NH. You will oversee engineering work, manage projects end-to-end, and collaborate with designers on innovative timber-based structures.

The role requires a PE license, BIM/CAD proficiency, and construction experience. Travel is expected to be <5%, with a strong focus on accuracy and client-focused solutions.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis on light wood frame and small mass timber structures, including gravity and lateral analysis.

• Design, model, and draft foundations, walls, floors, roofs, and timber frames per codes using CAD/BIM tools.
• Provide technical guidance on design, construction, and structural alternatives to stakeholders.

Senior Structural Engineer Come be part of an innovative and forward-thinking design-build company that is revolutionizing the sustainable home building industry through offsite construction.

Position Summary and Primary Responsibilities:

As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will be an integral part of our Construction Documentation team, joining a diverse group of designers and engineers collaborating on many of the amazing projects we build . In t his role , you will have the opportunity to both oversee the engineering work of other team members, as well as taking on your own pro jects and seeing them through to completion. Travel related to this full-time, non-exempt role will be less than 5%. This role will be based in our Walpole, NH office and is primarily an in-person role.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis on light wood frame and small mass timber structures, including gravity and lateral analysis
• Act as Engineer of Record for both your own projects as well as project work done by team members under your oversight.
• Design, model, and draft foundations; wall, floor, and roof framing; and timber frame structures following construction and government codes and standards, using analysis software, excel spreadsheets, and 3d and 2d CAD drawing tools
• Provide technical advice regarding design, construction, and structural alternatives to timber framers, carpenters, architects, construction managers, and sales associates

Preferred Qualifications

• BS in structural, mechanical, or civil engineering or similar
• Active PE license in at least one state
• BIM and/or CAD software experience
• Construction experience preferred
