Pennoni is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer based in the Philadelphia area to lead a variety of structural design, renovation, and inspection projects. You will manage junior engineers, develop FE models, and work directly with clients to ensure high-quality deliverables. The role requires a P.E.

license (S.E. a plus) and at least 8 years of professional experience, with proficiency in Revit/AutoCAD and RAM/STAAD/ENERCALC tools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of professional experience.
  • Active P.E. license; S.E. license a plus.
  • Experience with design and analysis of structural systems for a variety of projects.
  • Experience with renovation and inspections of buildings.

Job description

We are hiring for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our team on a full-time, direct basis and lead projects while based in Philadelphia, PA area.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Oversee a variety of structural design, renovation, and inspection projects for various applications: renovations, adaptive reuse, etc.
  • Perform structural design & analysis of building structural systems for a variety of markets: commercial, institutional, educational, public-sector, and/or industrial facilities.
  • Design, detailing, and analysis of structures for low-rise & high-rise buildings with a variety of materials (e.g.: concrete, steel, masonry, masonry, wood, and cold-form metal).
  • Prepare calculations and drawings for reports.
  • Develop finite element models for the analysis of complex structures.
  • Perform a variety of field-oriented tasks (e.g.: investigations, site visits, inspections, condition assessments, etc.) and develop corresponding site visit reports.
  • Work directly with clients to foster positive relationships.
  • Manage a team of junior engineers to deliver a successful project.
  • Additional tasks may be assigned, as needed.
Basic Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or a related technical discipline (i.e.: Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, etc.).Master degree is a plus
  • Minimum 8 years of professional work experience.
  • Active P.E. license, S.E license is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Management and/or Project Management experience; proven ability to oversee multi-disciplinary projects is a plus!
  • Experience working with the design and analysis of a variety of structural systems / complex projects; experience with nonlinear structural analysis is a plus!
  • Experience working with structural inspections / assessments, especially with renovation projects.
  • Proficiency with engineering / CADD / BIM tools; experience with Revit and/or AutoCAD is a preferred.
  • Working knowledge of structural analysis software; experience with RAM (especially Structural Systems and/or Elements), STAAD, ENERCALC, and/or Mathcad is preferred.
  • Proficiency on all standard Microsoft Office software applications.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong attention-to-detail skills with the proven ability to work with a high-level of accuracy.
  • Proven ability to work independently in a team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Proven ability to work in a self-motivated manner while effectively multi-tasking and prioritizing multiple assignments.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
