Job summary

Pennoni is seeking an Associate Engineer to contribute to multi-discipline design projects from our office in Haddon Heights, NJ. This full-time position offers the chance to work on private and public site development projects across various markets.

The role requires a Civil-leaning engineering degree with 2+ years of experience; FE/EIT is preferred. Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and strong communication skills are essential. Collaboration with regulatory agencies is common.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline, preferably Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of professional engineering experience, land development preferred.
• FE or EIT certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform due diligence to determine site development feasibility.
• Prepare site plan drawings using land survey data compliant with regulations.
• Design and detail site layout, grading, utilities and profiles.
• Model stormwater hydrology and hydraulics; assist permitting and reports.
• Coordinate with regulatory staff and respond to letters.
• Assist with client coordination and proposal writing.
• Mentor junior staff and support team projects.

Job description

Pennoni is hiring! In particular, we are looking for an experienced professional to join our team as Associate Engineer to contribute to our multi-discipline design projects on a full-time, direct basis at our office in Haddon Heights, NJ. This person will have the opportunity to work on a variety of private and public site development projects across various markets!

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform due diligence tasks to determine site development feasibility.
• Prepare site plan development drawings; this involves taking land survey data to develop a site plan package that is compliant with municipal regulations.
• Design and detail facility demolition, site layout, grading, utilities, profiles, etc.
• Design and detail stormwater management: hydrologic & hydraulic modeling, erosion control, sediment control, relevant design calculations, etc.
• Preparation of permit applications.
• Preparation of engineering reports (that present technical information to demonstrate compliance with client requirements and/or regulatory requirements).
• Direct coordination with regulatory agency staff.
• Responses to regulatory agency comment letters.
• Assistance with Client coordination.
• Assistance with proposal writing.
• Assist with mentoring junior-level staff.
• Additional duties may be assigned, as needed.

Basic Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering-oriented discipline (preferably Civil Engineering).
• 2+ years of professional experience working in Engineering, preferably with land development projects.

Preferred Qualifications

• FE / EIT.
• Experience working on land development projects.
• Experience working with stormwater management, especially while utilizing Hydrology and Hydraulics (H&H) modeling tools, is a plus!
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Proven ability to prepare a site plan package for submission to local jurisdiction(s) is a plus!
• Proficiency on basic office software applications, especially Microsoft Office 365.
• Exposure to regulatory agency coordination.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with minimal supervision while displaying a positive attitude.
• Excellent organizational skills, especially with a proven ability to work in an energetic and challenging work environment on a variety of projects; this person will be expected to demonstrate a self-motivated demeanor while effectively multi-tasking and prioritizing multiple assignments.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).

TARGET SALARY RANGE: $70K - $90k (per year)
