Job Description:

This position requires 3 days in the Pasadena, CA office and two days remote.

Parsons is seeking a talented Senior Structural Engineer to support design and construction oversight for Facilities Design and Construction projects for our DoD clients.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Perform complex engineering tasks efficiently and accurately to support industrial and infrastructure projects.
  • Prepare engineering computations, quantity takeoffs, estimates, and designs.
  • Coordinate and supervise engineering design for assigned projects.
  • Develop technical specifications and scope of work descriptions.
  • Coordinate structural engineering activities with other disciplines.
  • Request geotechnical investigations.
  • Participate in proposal writing, client meetings, and presentations.
  • Commit to quality and continuous improvement through innovation and creative thinking.
  • Conduct constructability, buildability, and maintainability reviews related to structural systems.
  • Review shop drawings and construction-phase submittals.
  • Visit sites to collect structural data and monitor contractor performance.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • US citizenship is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
  • Master’s degree in structural engineering preferred.
  • PhD in structural engineering is a plus.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience.
  • Professional Structural Engineer (SE) license is required.
  • Proficiency with the International Building Code (IBC), ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC Manual, TMS 402/602.
  • Experience designing reinforced concrete, structural steel, and masonry structures.
  • Experience with Autodesk REVIT and structural engineering software like Risa 3d, SAP, ETABS, SAFE, Staad Pro.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

Desired Skills:

  • Conduct site surveys.
  • Design services across the U.S.
  • Work under supervision and ensure compliance with codes and standards.
  • Review engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Provide technical support across departments.
  • Mentor junior engineers.

Minimum Clearance Required: None

This role is part of our Federal Solutions team, supporting U.S. government missions in defense, security, intelligence, infrastructure, and environmental sectors.

Salary Range: $86,700 - $151,700
