Job summary

SOCOTEC is seeking a structural engineer in Chicago to assist in investigations, analyses, and repair design. You will review designs for code compliance, perform structural analyses, and collect data from on-site inspections which may require multi-day travel across the country.

Reports and repair details will be prepared, with regular office presence at the Wrigley Building, 410 N Michigan Ave. Required: 5-7 years of experience in design/investigation of structures; experience with

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience in the design and/or investigation of structures.
• Experience in the investigation of structural failures and/or preparation of reports for attorney clients preferred.
• Licensure – EIT min. Working towards SE licensure.

Responsibilities

• Review of structural designs for code compliance.
• Structural analysis, document review, and research for root cause evaluation.
• On-site inspections and data collection, including multi-day travel.
• Preparation of reports and repair details.
• Regular attendance in the office at the Wrigley Building, 410 N Michigan Ave.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.

We are looking for a structural engineer to assist in structural investigations, analyses, and repair design. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Review of structural designs for code compliance
• Structural analysis, document review, and research for root cause evaluation
• On-site inspections and collection of data. Note that site inspections may require multi-day travel to other parts of the country
• Preparation of reports and repair details
• Regular attendance in the office (located at the Wrigley Building, 410 N Michigan Ave)
• Perform all other duties as assigned by your supervisor or manager
