Job summary

SOCOTEC, Inc. seeks a Principal Engineer in Chicago with 10–25 years of design and field experience. You will conduct investigations, analyses and designs, interact with clients and professionals, and support forensic investigations and litigation.

You will also help develop SOCOTEC’s business and client base in the Chicago office. Ideal candidates hold a minimum Bachelor's in Civil/Structural Engineering, with MS preferred and IL licensure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; MS preferred
• IL professional licensure/registration required
• Experience with AutoCAD and BIM software required
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Willingness to travel for site meetings and investigations

Responsibilities

• Conduct field investigations, analyses and design.

• Develop business and build a local client book for SOCOTEC.

Job Description

We are looking for a Principal Engineerwith 10-25 years of design and field experience.

• Responsible for conducting field investigations, analysis and design
• Interact with clients and other design and construction professionals.
• Conduct forensic investigations and litigation support for expert witness services.
• Able to perform business development tasks and develop a book of business.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by your supervisor or manager.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor's Degree,MasterofScience in Civil/Structural Engineering preferred.
• Professional licensure/registration for the state of IL required
• Experienced with AutoCAD and computer aided analysis/design of structures is required and experience with BIM software a plus.
• Strong oral and written communication skills are also required.
• Some travel is required to attend site meetings and perform investigations.
• The successful candidate will be able to bring a book of work and clients to SOCOTEC and help us to grow the Chicago office.Service sectors that include Infrastructure, Transportation, Geotechnical Engineering, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, and Structural Dynamics will be those most strongly considered.
