Job summary

SANY Group in Atlanta is seeking a senior structural engineer to take ownership of large-tonnage loader frames and related load-bearing structures, driving optimization across design and manufacturing stages. You will benchmark against international mining machinery standards, lead CAE load cases and fatigue criteria, and guide material choices and welding processes to improve durability and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Take overall technical ownership and optimize frames, working devices, and key load-bearing structures.
• Benchmark the structural design system of world-leading mining machinery.
• Research heavy-load, alternating load, fatigue cracking, insufficient stiffness and welding deformation; deliver high-end optimization solutions.
• Guide the structural CAE load case system, fatigue verification criteria and definition of limit working conditions; develop world-class structural design specifications.
• Participate in scheme reviews for material selection of key structural components, welding processes, wear-resistant structures and articulation systems to improve durability.
• Follow prototype manufacturing and mine-site tests; diagnose complex issues such as structural cracking, deformation, abnormal noise and insufficient service life; lead technical rectification to achieve full closure.

Job description

• Take overall technical ownership, conduct scheme review and structural architecture optimization for frames, working devices and key load-bearing structures of large-tonnage loaders, benchmarking the structural design system of world-leading mining machinery.
• Carry out technical research on common structural challenges in the industry including heavy-load impact, alternating load, fatigue cracking, insufficient stiffness and welding deformation, and deliver high-end optimization solutions.
• Guide the structural CAE load case system, fatigue verification criteria and definition of limit working conditions, and develop world-class structural design specifications for large-tonnage mining machinery.
• Participate in scheme reviews for material selection of key structural components, welding processes, wear-resistant structures and articulation systems to improve the structural durability and reliability of complete machines.
• Closely follow prototype manufacturing and mine-site tests, diagnose complex issues such as structural cracking, deformation, abnormal noise and insufficient service life, and lead technical rectification to achieve full closure.
• Introduce advanced overseas structural design concepts, benchmark technologies of international benchmark models, build the structural R&D standard system, and guide the technical capability improvement of the team.
