Job summary

H. T. PROF Group in Colorado is seeking a structural engineer to perform analysis and design for mining projects, meeting client requirements and project constraints.

The role requires preparing 2D and 3D drawings in CAD, developing design criteria, and communicating member sizes, connections, and welds to multi-disciplinary teams. A Master’s degree is preferred; PE license is desired, with travel both domestic and international expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering from an accredited college.
• Six or more years related experience.
• P.E. license in good standing (desired).
• Master’s degree preferred; mining and/or bulk material handling knowledge desired.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for mining equipment and foundations.
• Prepare 2D and 3D drawings in CAD software.
• Meet task and project time and budget goals.
• Communicate structural details (members, connections, welds) to project teams.
• Mentor structural interns and junior engineers.
• Travel nationally and internationally as required.

Job description

Performs structural engineering analysis and design in order to meet project and client requirements in the mining industrybyperformingthefollowingduties.

ESSENTIALDUTIESANDRESPONSIBILITIESINCLUDETHE FOLLOWING:

• 2.Meetstaskorprojecttimeandbudget goals
• 3.Using prescribed methods, performs specific and limited portion of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer. Applies standard practices and techniques in specific situations, adjusts and correlates data, recognizes discrepancies in results, and follows operations through a series of related detailed steps or processes.
• c.Usesexperiencetohelpwithmaterialtake‑offestimatesfor proposals
• d. Communicates necessary structural information such as member sizes, connection, and welds, to others for the preparation of project drawings and specifications
• f. Develops and communicates structural details of connections, and proposes alternate framing solutions to structural systems as required
• g.Perform structural analysis and design of structures such as steel supports for conveyors, crushers, screens, tanks, pipes and other equipment, and their foundations where appropriate
• h.Preparedesigncriteria, includingall relevantloads onthe structure

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree (Structural) in Engineering from an accredited college or university. Six or more years related experience.

LicenseP.E.ingoodstanding (desired, but not required)

Preferred Education/Experience:

Master’s Degree form an accredited college or university desired, not required. Knowledge of mining and /or bulk material handling industries.

Computer Skills/Experience:

Drawing Software: 2D & 3D using AutoCad, Advance Steel, SolidWorks (desired but not required). Design Software: RISA‑3D or similar.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reviews designs of other structural engineers for code and design specification compliance. Uses experience to suggest initial structural layouts to other disciplines. Mentors structural engineering interns and other beginning structuralengineers.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
