Job summary

SANY Group in Atlanta is seeking a skilled mechanical design engineer to design schemes and create 3D models for the core load-bearing frames of mining loaders, including front and rear frames and counterweight brackets.

You will coordinate interfaces for hydraulics, electronics, cooling, and cab systems, work with CAE engineers on simulations, and help set welding and machining standards while guiding prototype tests and field evaluations to improve stability and service life.

Responsibilities

• Design schemes, create 3D models, deliver engineering drawings and iteratively improve the core load-bearing frames of mining loaders, including front/rear frames and counterweights.
• Coordinate interfaces for hydraulics, electronics, cooling, cab and devices; align mounting points and resolve interference.
• Collaborate with CAE teams on static, modal and fatigue simulations; apply reinforcement, weight reduction and stress fixes from results.
• Define welding specs, machining standards, and BOM; produce drawings and technical agreements for frames.
• Oversee prototype manufacture, weld distortion control, assembly, bench and mine tests.
• Participate in FMEA, design reviews and reliability improvements; benchmark competitors to enhance stability and service life.

Job description

• Responsible for scheme design, 3D modeling, engineering drawing delivery and structural iteration of core load-bearing structures of mining loaders, including front & rear frames, articulation frames, bumpers and counterweight brackets.
• Coordinate the interface layout of all machine systems, match mounting points for hydraulics, electronic control, heat dissipation, cab and working devices, and resolve structural interference and spatial layout conflicts.
• Cooperate with CAE engineers to carry out static strength, modal and fatigue simulation analysis of frames; implement structural reinforcement, weight reduction optimization and stress concentration rectification based on simulation results.
• Formulate technical requirements for frame welded structures, thick plate welding process specifications and machining standards, and deliver BOM, drawings and technical agreements.
• Follow up prototype manufacturing, welding deformation control, assembly commissioning, bench tests and mine industrial tests.
• Participate in machine-level FMEA, design review, reliability improvement and competitor benchmarking analysis, and continuously enhance the load-bearing stability and service life of the frame and complete machine.
