Job summary

Hargrove Engineers & Constructors is seeking a Structural Designer to perform complete civil/structural design for complex assignments. The role requires extensive experience and will operate in our Beaumont or Lake Charles office under general supervision.

You will draft plans, review specifications, and coordinate with discipline leads while mentoring junior team members. The position emphasizes cost estimation, scheduling, and quality control for deliverables.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of AISC and ACI standard details.
• Ability to produce drawings for concrete and structural steel.
• Familiarity with construction bulk materials and equipment specifications.
• Knowledge of company CAD drafting standards.
• Ability to create accurate civil/structural documents from vendor drawings.
• Workflow knowledge between disciplines.
• Ability to estimate task completion and costs.
• Leadership of small project teams.

Responsibilities

• Draft civil/structural plans under minimal supervision.
• Review and apply design criteria and scope for projects.
• Coordinate work with teammates and discipline leads.
• Provide technical guidance to junior drafters.
• Assist engineers with cost/material estimates.
• Support site startup and field verification of designs.
• Produce construction scopes with engineering review and approval.
• Deliver professional presentations of services.
