Job summary
Conrad Consulting is seeking a Senior Structural Designer in Chesapeake, VA with 7+ years of experience to lead structural design efforts for heavy industrial projects, delivering drawings, layouts, sections, and details.
You will coordinate steel, concrete, and masonry design documentation, manage project teams and mentor junior designers, review drawings and fabrication details for accuracy, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on field visits and construction coordination.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of structural design experience.
- Strong experience with steel and concrete structural systems.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD required; Revit strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting industrial or large-scale structural projects.
- Strong understanding of structural detailing and construction documentation.
- Strong communication, coordination, and leadership skills.
- Exposure to RISA, STAAD, or similar analysis software is a plus.

- Leading structural design efforts for heavy industrial projects
- Preparing structural drawings, layouts, sections, and details
- Coordinating steel, concrete, and masonry design documentation
- Managing project teams and supporting junior designers
- Reviewing drawings, models, and fabrication details for accuracy
- Coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering teams
