Job Description

As a Structural Designer you will apply your unique skills and insights as part of project teams that span the South Central Region and across the United States.

You will apply your structural modeling, design, and drafting skills on structures such as wastewater treatment plants, water treatment plants, dams, pump stations, collection and distribution structures, process buildings, administration buildings, etc. You will provide structural detailing for materials including, but not limited to, reinforced concrete, structural masonry, structural steel, structural aluminum, FRP, and wood.

As a key member of project teams, you will work closely with structural engineers, architects, mechanical engineers, civil engineers, other designers, electrical engineers, plumbing engineers, and project managers to efficiently create designs. You will engage in our collaborative approach to deliver and meet our clients’ needs by:

• Ensuring drawing compliance with company and client CAD/BIM/Civil standards and styles,
• Preparing plan, section, and detail drawings for various structures,
• Creating BIM models, Revit families, and CAD based files for use in the production of contract documents,
• Coordinating with the other disciplines (structural, architectural, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, I&C, and site civil)

Qualifications and Skills

Required

• Multiple years performing design and CAD work for public sector water/wastewater clients
• Excellent technical skills and demonstrated understanding of structures and equipment for these facilities
• Multiple years of experience preparing plan, section, and detail drawings for various concrete and steel structures, pipes, and mechanical equipment
• Expert level proficiency in software platforms Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite
• Multiple years of documented experience creating BIM models, Revit families, and CAD based files for use in the production of construction contract documents
• Experience working on and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
• Strong organizational skills

Preferred

• Multiple years performing design with Civil3D
• Experience mentoring junior designers and other staff
• Experience communicating and coordinating with clients

Education

Required

• AS in Civil Engineering Design and/or Drafting
• And/or multiple years of experience in this role for the types of facilities noted above

Preferred

• BS in Engineering Technology from ABET accredited university
