Schnabel Engineering is seeking a Senior Structural Dam Engineer with more than 12 years of experience to lead dam and hydraulic structure projects in Texas. You will guide evaluations, design, rehabilitation, and construction oversight for concrete dams, spillways, and intake facilities, while fostering client relationships and team growth.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, project management, and collaboration across Schnabel offices with seasoned engineers and junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from ABET-accredited program in civil/structural engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in Texas preferred or reciprocity; SE designation valued.
• 10+ years of dam and hydraulic structure experience; Texas experience preferred.
• Experience with PM, client mgmt, business development, and staff mgmt.
• Excellent oral and written communication; detail‑oriented and well organized.
• Ability to work in a team or independently.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for dam and hydraulic structures.
• Lead evaluations and design for concrete dams, spillways, and intake facilities.
• Perform gravity dam stability analyses and rehabilitation studies.
• Prepare calculations, reports, plans, and specifications; support during construction.
• Manage complex dam engineering projects, develop scopes, budgets, and staffing.
• Coordinate cross‑office teams and maintain client relationships.
• Contribute to proposals, qualifications packages, and interviews.
• Mentor engineers and staff; support professional development.
