Job summary

Schnabel Engineering is seeking a Senior Dam Water Resources Engineer with more than 12 years of experience to lead hydrologic and hydraulic studies for dams, reservoirs, spillways, and related structures in Texas. You will manage client relationships, mentor staff, and contribute to expanding Schnabel's dam engineering practice in the region.

Requirements include a civil engineering degree from ABET-accredited program, Texas PE preferred, and extensive experience with dam safety design methods

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited civil engineering program required.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in Texas preferred or ability to obtain reciprocity.
• 12+ years in hydrologic, hydraulic, water resources engineering; Texas experience preferred.
• Experience with dam safety design methodologies and regulations; Texas experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead hydrologic and hydraulic evaluations for dams, reservoirs, levees, spillways, and water control structures.
• Perform watershed hydrology, PMF studies, flood frequency analyses, reservoir routing, dam breach analyses, spillway adequacy evaluations.
• Direct hydraulic analyses and design of spillways, outlet works, energy dissipation systems, and other hydraulic structures.
• Support dam safety inspections, rehabilitation studies, risk assessments, and engineering evaluations.
• Prepare and review technical reports, calculations, plans, specs, and documentation.
• Provide design-phase and construction-phase support for dam rehabilitation projects.
• Mentor and supervise engineers and staff; participate in recruitment.
