Job summary

Placements24 in Welkom seeks a skilled Structural Civil Engineer to contribute to the engineering team. The role focuses on structural design of buildings, bridges, and other infrastructure, ensuring safety and compliance while coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams in a hybrid work setting.

You will develop drawings and calculations using SAP2000, ETABS or STAAD.Pro, conduct site checks, review submittals, and support construction with technical guidance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, structural specialization.
• 6+ years of experience in structural design and analysis.
• Pr Eng registration with ECSA required.
• Proficiency in structural software (SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD.Pro) and CAD tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for buildings, bridges, and other civil infrastructure.
• Develop detailed structural drawings, calculations, and specifications using industry-standard software.
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated project design.
• Conduct site inspections to monitor construction progress and ensure adherence to structural designs.
• Review contractor submittals and respond to RFIs during the construction phase.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, standards, and safety regulations.
