Job summary

Horner & Shifrin, Inc. is seeking a full-time Bridge Project Engineer for our Structural Business Unit, with offices in O’Fallon, MO; O’Fallon, IL; Chicago, IL; NW Arkansas; Marion, IL; and St. Louis, MO. The position requires 5+ years of experience.

You will follow bridge design standards, perform calculations, prepare drawings, develop cost estimates, and assist with reports and studies. Licensure as a Professional Engineer is required; Illinois PE preferred.

Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
• Licensed Structural Engineer in Illinois preferred
• Experience with design and detailing of IDOT or Illinois Tollway bridge projects
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Previous bridge inspection experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Follow Bridge Practice standards and procedures as delegated by Project Manager
• Perform and check structural calculations for bridges and related structures
• Prepare and check construction drawings to meet requirements
• Develop and check cost estimates
• Assist in preparing reports and studies
