Job summary

Volkert, Inc. is seeking an experienced Structural Bridge Engineer for our Southeast Region in Florida. The role covers design and analysis of highway bridges, with opportunities across Miami, Tampa, Orlando, and Chipley.

Required are a B.S. in Civil Engineering, 5–10 years of bridge design experience, PE license, and FDOT familiarity. Proficiency in Open Bridge, Leap Bridge, CSI Bridge, AutoCAD and MicroStation is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
• 5–10 years of bridge design experience.
• Recent steel and/or concrete bridge design experience.
• PE licensure is required.
• FDOT experience is required.
• Proficiency with Open Bridge, Leap Bridge, CSI Bridge or similar software.

Responsibilities

• Perform assignments applying structural engineering principles.
• Design or repair highway bridges and retaining walls; load ratings.
• Analyze structures using structural software programs.
• Prepare calculations and details for steel and concrete elements.
• Create structural drawings in OpenBridge, MicroStation and AutoCAD.
• Coordinate with roadway and drainage teams to ensure conformance.
• Collaborate with Southeast Region Structures Team.
