Volkert, Inc. is seeking an experienced Structural Bridge Engineer for the Southeast Region with locations in Miami, Tampa, Orlando, or Chipley, FL. You will perform design and analysis of highway bridges, prepare drawings, and coordinate with roadway and drainage teams to ensure conformance to structural drawings.

The ideal candidate will have a B.S. in Civil/Structural Engineering, 5–10 years of bridge design, PE, and FDOT experience, with proficiency in Open Bridge, Leap Bridge, CSI Bridge,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
• 5-10 years of bridge design experience.
• Recent experience in steel and/or concrete bridge design.
• Professional Engineer (PE) required.
• FDOT experience required.
• Experience with Open Bridge, Leap Bridge, CSI Bridge, AASHTO BrR, or similar tools.
• Experience with AutoCAD and MicroStation for drawings.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Able to pass pre-employment drug screen and MVR check.

Responsibilities

• Perform assignments requiring knowledge and application of structural engineering principles.
• Design and repair of highway bridges and retaining walls; bridge load ratings; review of drawings and cost estimating.
• Analyze structures using structural engineering software.
• Prepare or check calculations and details for steel and concrete elements.
• Prepare structural drawings in Open Bridge, MicroStation and AutoCAD.
• Coordinate with roadway and drainage teams to ensure conformance to structural drawings.
• Collaborate with Southeast Region Structures Team.
