LJB Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Bridge Engineer to support and grow our Transportation Practice in Raleigh, North Carolina. This role focuses on designing bridges from concept through final design and coordinating with DOT and municipal clients to deliver safe, durable infrastructure.

You will mentor junior engineers, manage design-bid-build and design-build projects, and lead collaborative efforts with multidisciplinary teams. A P.E.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a Structural emphasis.
• P.E. license.
• 10+ years of bridge/culvert design experience.
• DOT bridge design experience and thorough understanding of DOT guidelines (ODOT, NCDOT or MaineDOT preferred).
• Thorough knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications and Manual for Bridge Evaluation.

Responsabilités

• Design bridge projects from preliminary to final design.
• Develop specifications, cost estimates, and bid packages.
• Establish relationships with client technical staff and project managers, especially in DOT and local governments.
• Provide design services for both design-bid-build and design-build projects.
• Mentor and assist junior engineers in developing final design plans.
• Coordinate design activities with design staff, subcontractors, and client managers.
• Participate in project decisions regarding technical approaches, cost, and scheduling performance.
• Identify schedule and cost variances and develop corrective actions.
• Participate in projects with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Lead and participate in transportation-related professional organizations.
