LJB Inc. in Kernersville, North Carolina, is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Bridge Engineer to join our Transportation Practice.

You will lead bridge design efforts from concept through final design and mentor junior engineers. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a structural emphasis.
P.E. license.
10+ years of bridge/culvert design experience.
DOT bridge design experience and understanding of DOT guidelines.

Responsibilities

Perform engineering design tasks for bridge projects from preliminary to final design.
Develop specifications, cost estimates, and prepare final bid packages.
Coordinate with client technical staff and project managers, especially in DOT and local governments.
Provide engineering design services for design-bid-build and design-build bridge projects.
Mentor and assist junior engineers in developing final design plans.
Coordinate design activities with design staff, subcontractors, and client managers.
Participate in project decisions regarding technical approaches, cost, and scheduling.
Identify schedule and cost variances and develop corrective actions.
Lead and participate in transportation-related professional organizations.
