Job summary

Electra is pioneering Ultra Short, hybrid-electric aviation and seeks a Senior Structural Assembly Manufacturing Engineer to drive the EL9 program from development through ramp-up. You will champion DFMA, evaluate producibility, and collaborate with airframe suppliers to establish scalable, repeatable manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• 8+ years aerospace manufacturing engineering experience.
• Strong DFMA experience during product development.
• Experience reviewing drawings, 3D models, GD&T and tolerances.
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Product Engineering to ensure DFMA in designs.
• Review structural designs for producibility and assembly readiness.
• Lead design reviews to identify manufacturing constraints early.
• Provide oversight with suppliers to clarify design intent.
• Define tooling concepts and determine locating strategies.
• Review supplier approaches and production readiness checks.
• Support prototype fabrication and initial builds.
• Coordinate manufacturing issue resolution across teams.
• Capture lessons learned and drive improvements back into design and processes.
• Assist ramp-up and drive improvements in quality, cost, and schedule.
• Contribute to Electra manufacturing engineering standards and best practices.
