Job summary

Divergent is seeking an experienced Structural Analysis Engineer to support aerospace and automotive structures using the Divergent Adaptive Production System (DAPS). You will apply FE methods to evaluate, optimize, and validate structural systems, collaborating with Design, Manufacturing, Test, and Product Engineering throughout development.

Depending on experience, this position may be Senior, Lead, or Principal Engineer (E05–E07).

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• 5+ years of structural analysis experience (E05).
• Experience with Abaqus, LS-Dyna, Nastran, OptiStruct or equivalent CAE software.
• Experience in nonlinear structural analysis including crash, durability, or multi-physics simulations.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Develop, analyze, validate, and optimize finite element models for structural components, assemblies, and systems.
• Perform linear and nonlinear analyses including crash, durability, fatigue, vibration, and thermal simulations.
• Validate results with hand calculations, testing, and correlation activities.
• Provide engineering recommendations balancing performance, manufacturability, cost, and certification.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and contribute to CAE methodologies.
