Job summary

Ursa Major is seeking a Staff Structural Analyst to perform high-fidelity structural analysis of solid rocket motor components, including FEA for structural integrity, thermal performance, and dynamic behavior.

You will develop and validate analytical models, correlate with test data, and collaborate across design, manufacturing, and test teams to support development, qualification, and production programs. Leadership and mentorship of junior analysts are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field
• MS degree or higher in Mechanical/Aerospace Eng focusing on solid mechanics/structural dynamics

Responsibilities

• Conduct FEA for structural integrity, thermal performance, and dynamic behavior of SRM components
• Develop and validate analytical models using industry-standard software (ANSYS/Abaqus/NASTRAN)
• Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure design feasibility and process optimization
• Prepare technical reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders
• Mentor analysis engineers and contribute to organizational capability in structural analysis
