Job summary

Sierra Space, based in Centennial, CO, is seeking a Structural Analysis Engineer III to lead design and analysis of structural systems. You will apply hand calculations and FEA, own technical packages as an RE, and mentor junior engineers while coordinating with multiple disciplines.

You will contribute to robust designs that meet rigorous aerospace standards, leveraging advanced tools and coding for custom analyses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience) with 3+ years of experience.
• Typically 5+ years of related experience.
• Expertise in structural analysis and a general knowledge of related disciplines.
• Complete understanding and application of technical principles, standards, theories, and concepts.
• Ability to provide solutions to wide‑ranging technical problems that are imaginative, thorough, practical, and consistent with organizational objectives.
• Experience managing discrete technical packages as a Responsible Engineer (RE).
• Capability to work under general direction to independently determine and develop approaches to solutions.

Responsibilities

• Perform design and analysis of structural systems using hand calculations and finite element analysis.
• Own discrete technical packages as a Responsible Engineer (RE) and mentor junior engineers.
• Collaborate across disciplines to ensure project integration and coherence.
• Provide frequent external communications related to routine business.
