Job summary

Boeing Defense, Space & Security in Oklahoma City seeks an Experienced Structural Analysis Engineer to join the Air Vehicle Engineering team. The role focuses on modifying and upgrading airframes for Bombers, AWACS, E-7, and ETS&S programs, with 100% onsite work in Oklahoma City.

Responsibilities include developing structural requirements, validating FEM models, and coordinating with engineering groups to ensure airframe integrity and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Aeronautical or Materials)
• Experience in classical methods of structural analysis
• Experience with Finite Element Models (FEM)
• Strong written, verbal communications and presentation skills
• Able to independently construct, execute, review, and manage structural finite element models
• Ability to obtain U.S. Secret Clearance
• 5+ years of experience in structural analysis

Responsibilities

• Develops, integrates, and documents structural requirements to validate airframe stress design and FEM loadcases
• Verifies structural integrity via analytical methods, finite element models, and simulations
• Coordinates with engineering groups to define the product environment
• Guides design and verifies structural integrity using FEM throughout the product lifecycle
• Understands industry practices in airframe primary/secondary structures and loadpaths
• Develops test plans, supports test execution, analyzes results
• Documents certification/test results for customers and regulators
• Supports in-service products by investigating failures and improvements
• Works independently under general direction
• Interacts with customers/regulators to define certification processes
• Develops analytical processes/tools to improve efficiency of analysis and repair
• Oversees compliance with stress analysis methodologies
• Investigates new technologies for future designs
• Operates under consultative direction
• Manages legacy 2D drawing-based certified programs versus Model-Based development
