Job summary

Senior Ward Sister - Stroke Unit at Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced leader to manage our refurbished 30-bed unit, including 2 Hyper Acute Bays. You will drive safety, quality and efficient patient care with strong operational oversight.

You will provide professional leadership for ward teams, oversee performance management, recruit and develop staff, and work with the MDT to deliver comprehensive stroke services across the trust and wider region.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership, organisational and operational management experience.
• Passion for delivering high-quality patient-centred stroke care.
• Ability to implement systems and processes to improve safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional and operational leadership for Stroke services.
• Line manage ward teams: performance management, appraisals, recruitment and development.
• Collaborate with MDT to coordinate comprehensive stroke care across the service.
• Manage ward resources, including workforce, equipment and delegated budget.
