Job summary

The Hillingdon Hospital is seeking a Junior Sister/Charge Nurse for Grange Ward. You will provide visible clinical leadership across shifts and take responsibility for the safe, efficient running of the ward in the absence of the Ward Manager.

You will coordinate, deliver and evaluate patient care, lead, coach and develop staff, and drive continuous improvement in quality, safety and patient experience in line with Trust policies.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Deputise for the Ward Manager as needed and prioritise safe care.
• Participate in recruitment and staff induction.
• Collaborate with the Ward Manager to train junior staff for emergencies.
• Evaluate nursing care quality via audits and multidisciplinary feedback.
• Support junior staff through supervision, teaching and appraisal.
• Act as Role Model/Mentor for students and Health Care Assistants.
• Contribute to management of performance issues with HR.
• Participate in risk assessments to promote safety.
• Assist in investigations of complaints and incidents and implement actions.
