Job summary

Jefferson Parish's Department of Parkways seeks a Street Sweeper - Equipment Operator III to safely operate the Street Sweeper and perform routine maintenance in accordance with safety programs and work standards.

The role requires a current Louisiana Class B CDL (or higher) and a satisfactory driving record, with options for demonstrated street sweeper experience, training, or certification; out-of-state CDLs are acceptable but Louisiana license must be obtained within ten days after offer.

Qualifications

• Possession of a current Louisiana Class B (or higher) CDL and a satisfactory driving record.
• Must meet one of: verified street sweeper experience; approved training course completion; or certification by an appointing authority.
• A Louisiana CDL from another state is acceptable; must obtain Louisiana CDL within 10 days of offer.
• Copies of licenses and certificates must be submitted with application.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Street Sweeper safely and efficiently per safety programs and procedures.
• Inspect and maintain tires, oil, leaks, coolant, lights, and windshield wipers.
• Perform related laboring tasks and operate other equipment as assigned.
