Job summary

The City of Flagstaff is seeking a skilled Streets Technician to perform construction, maintenance, and repair work on city streets, signs, markings, curbs, gutters, and sidewalks. You will operate a range of equipment and support Snow Operations duties while ensuring safety and quality.

You will read and implement work orders, track performance, prepare monthly reports, and train teammates, fostering a collaborative team environment in the Streets section; occasional leadership and mentorship

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 4 years of experience as a laborer in semi-skilled construction or building trades.
• 3 years of proficient heavy equipment operation experience.
• Must possess valid Arizona Class B Commercial Driver License (CDL).
• Desirable Class A CDL is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform construction, maintenance and repair work on city streets, signs, markings, curbs, gutters, sidewalks, and drainage.
• Safely operate street equipment and heavy machinery.
• Set up safe traffic control work zones per MUTCD guidelines.
• Read and complete work orders; maintain monthly reports and inventories.
• Provide training and mentorship to Streets section staff.
• Participate in snow operations and other streets-related duties as assigned.
