Job summary

IBM Software is hiring for a Stream Processing & Analytics role focused on building an elastic, high-performance engine based on Apache Flink for Confluent Cloud. You will enable customers to run custom user functions and apps, while collaborating with open-source communities and maintaining enterprise-grade reliability.

You'll work with Java, Python, and Go, contribute to cloud infrastructure, and help scale across multiple public cloud regions with a strong SDLC and rigorous on-call practices.

Qualifications

• BS, MS, or PhD in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 4+ years of relevant stream processing experience.
• Strong fundamentals in distributed systems design and development.
• Experience running production services in the cloud and being part of on-call rotation.
• Proficiency in Java, and comfortable working with Go and Python.

Responsibilities

• Work on Flink user-defined functions to provide a great experience for customers with sophisticated use-cases.
• Design, develop and operationalize critical user-facing interfaces and the supporting cloud infrastructure.
• Collaborate with the Apache Flink community to establish standards and improve open source foundations.
• Drive execution of projects to deliver complex systems in production with an emphasis on quality.
• Evaluate and enhance the efficiency of the platform’s technology stack and stay ahead of industry trends.
• Develop, manage, and maintain a mission-critical service with 99.99 SLA across AWS, GCP, and Azure regions.
