Job summary

IBM Software in New York is seeking a Stream Processing & Analytics engineer to help build an elastic, reliable Flink-based runtime for Confluent Cloud. You will enable customers to run custom functions and apps with Java or Python, while upholding best practices for cloud-scale development.

You will design and deliver user-facing interfaces, collaborate with the Flink community, and drive production projects with a 99.99 SLA across AWS/GCP/Azure regions.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in computer science or a related field.
• 4+ years of stream processing experience.
• Proficiency in Java; comfortable with Go and Python.
• Experience running production services in the cloud and on-call rotations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and operate Flink user-defined functions for sophisticated use-cases.
• Design, develop and operationalize core interfaces and cloud infra.
• Collaborate with the Apache Flink community to set standards and improve OSS foundations.
• Drive complex production projects with a strong emphasis on quality and reliability.
• Enhance platform performance and scale across cloud regions.
