Job summary

IBM Software is seeking a Stream Processing & Analytics engineer to build and scale an elastic, durable stream processing engine based on Apache Flink for Confluent Cloud. You will enable customers to run custom functions and apps in Confluent Cloud with a strong SDLC and high-performance runtime.

You will implement Java and Python pipelines, collaborate with cloud infra teams, and help shape best practices for production services across AWS, Azure, and GCP regions.

Qualifications

Master's degree in CS or related field.
4+ years of relevant stream processing experience.
Strong fundamentals in distributed systems design and development.
Production cloud experience and on-call rotation experience.
Proficiency in Java; comfortable with Go and Python.

Responsibilities

Develop Flink user-defined functions for complex use cases.
Design, develop, and operationalize critical user-facing interfaces and cloud infrastructure.
Collaborate with the Apache Flink community to set standards and improve open source foundations.
Independently drive software projects to deliver complex production-grade solutions.
Evaluate and improve the platform’s efficiency and stay current with industry trends.
Maintain a mission-critical service with 99.99 SLA across cloud regions.
