Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. seeks an experienced Strategic Transactions Attorney to lead drafting and negotiation of long-term partnerships across Consumer & Community Banking, Asset & Wealth Management, and Private Bank lines of business.

You will provide timely, pragmatic legal advice, collaborate with senior business leaders, manage external counsel, and help shape new customer benefits and go-to-market relationships through cross-functional engagement.

Qualifications

• Licensed attorney with at least 5 years of legal experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience advising banking or fintech on consumer and small business products.
• On-point transactional experience with strong negotiation and drafting skills.
• Ability to work autonomously while collaborating with a team.
• Entrepreneurial, business-minded, and a creative problem solver.
• Ability to see wider strategy and think tactically to achieve best results.
• Perseverance to see matters through to completion.

Responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate agreements for key CCB strategic partnerships and engagements including partnership agreements, embedded benefits agreements, co-brand card agreements and issuer agreements with payment networks.
• Provide strategic, commercially pragmatic, and transparent advice to business partners.
• Provide ongoing support and assistance to business partners, other legal teams and functional partners as to contract interpretation.
• Provide early stage strategy and pre-term sheet legal support, including issue-spotting and escalation of risks.
• Participate in cross line of business initiatives.
• Manage external counsel as required.
