Job summary

Fayette Chamber of Commerce is seeking a Senior Category Manager to oversee demand and supply management for multiple spend categories, with the goal of optimizing total cost of ownership, managing supplier risk, and ensuring timely delivery of initiatives. You will partner with senior business leaders to align category strategies with organizational goals.

Requires 6–10 years of sourcing experience in regulated environments, with strong negotiation, analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 6 to 10 years of sourcing experience in regulated organizations.
• Knowledge of the market dynamics, suppliers and cost drivers.
• Direct management experience of a sourcing/procurement team function in Financial Services or heavily regulated industry.
• Ability to learn content quickly and apply a strategic lens to category spend.
• Ability to engage and communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Track record of success in supplier consolidation and driving spend to preferred suppliers.
• Subject Matter Expertise in strategic sourcing methodology and techniques.
• Demonstrated ability to develop client relationships.
• Proficient analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient project management and time management skills.
• Proficient business acumen.
• Proficient negotiation and influencing skills.
• Proficient interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, particularly at the management level.
• Self-motivated, with executive presence and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop category strategies for medium/high spend levels to optimize value.
• Lead cross-functional teams to create category specifications, RFIs, RFPs, contracts, and project plans.
• Analyze market data, supplier performance, and forecasts to inform negotiations.
• Drive full sourcing processes including scope development, supplier selection and contract execution.
• Mitigate risk by following best practices and engaging risk stakeholders.
• Build relationships with internal customers and executives to align strategies.
• Manage project pipeline and ensure on-time delivery.
• Assist in special projects as needed.
• Monitor supplier performance and optimize spend allocation.
