Job summary

Nexteer Automotive is seeking a Senior Strategic Buyer to lead sourcing, negotiation, and supplier relationship management. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and cost-efficient procurement of assigned commodities while upholding quality and reliability, aligning with cost, launch, and delivery commitments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or other relevant fields.
• Experience in automotive purchasing is preferred.
• Ability to travel up to 15%.

Responsibilities

• Leads full sourcing process with RFQ/RFI, technical reviews and approvals for new business awards.
• Collaborates with Nexteer functions to select the best supplier.
• Performs market research to identify supplier options and products.
• Negotiates contracts for prices and terms with outside suppliers for new and carryover components.
• Develops and maintains commodity strategies with regional alignment.
• Monitors market price trends and general business activities.
• Manages supplier commercial issues and ensures adherence to GSM policies.
• Establishes annual material budget and performs monthly budget analysis.
• Identifies and implements material cost savings with suppliers and Nexteer teams.
• Develops new suppliers to support product line needs and negotiates up-to-date prices per material contracts.
