Job summary

American Holt, a ProMach Product Brand, is seeking a Senior Strategic Buyer to drive sourcing and supplier development in a manufacturing environment. The role focuses on optimizing purchasing processes, MRPs, and vendor performance to support production.

• Bachelor's degree in a related field (Supply Chain/Business Administration) or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of purchasing or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, Syteline or similar).
• Proficient in MS Office; strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong strategic relationships with key vendors.
• Source and qualify new vendors to manage supply risks and capacity constraints.
• Implement and utilize MRP functionality to plan production and inventory.
• Determine production volumes and place orders to support demand.
• Improve purchasing processes, inventory efficiency, and supplier performance.
• Monitor supplier performance and address pricing, quality, delivery, and lead times.
• Collaborate with Sales, Accounting, Engineering and other teams to align purchasing with business needs.
• Monitor market conditions to identify cost savings and potential supply issues.
• Maintain ERP/MRP data (items, suppliers, pricing, lead times).
• Analyze purchasing and inventory data to prepare management reports and recommendations.
• Support projects and supplier evaluations; share knowledge with the team.

Keep reading.The Senior Buyer is responsible for executing purchasing and supply chain activities to support the American Holt’s operational requirements.
