Job summary

Woolpert in Virginia is seeking a Sr. Stormwater Site/Civil Engineer to join our Water Team. This role supports technical delivery on stormwater and site civil projects, including permitting and regulatory compliance, across Virginia and Pennsylvania.

The ideal candidate is a Virginia-registered PE with 5+ years of experience, proficient in AutoCAD Civil3D and hydrologic modeling tools, and capable of leading junior engineers in deliverable development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Biosystems, or a related engineering program.
• Registered Professional Engineer in Virginia or the ability to obtain within 3 months of joining Woolpert.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.
• Ability and willingness to obtain PE licensure in additional states.
• Willingness to perform technical tasks and guide junior team members.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil3D and hydraulic/hydrologic modeling software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Support various phases of Site/Civil projects for energy clients in Virginia, focusing on stormwater and erosion/sediment control design and permitting.
• Design stormwater and erosion control to meet regulatory requirements.
• Prepare permitting documents for zoning and NPDES stormwater permits.
• Perform technical deliverables and lead junior team members.
• Delegate tasks and perform quality control of deliverables.
• Manage project phases to meet schedule, budget, and quality standards.
• Conduct field work and attend public meetings as needed.
• Analyze field data and present findings to clients in a clear format.
• Meet internal and external project deadlines and QA/QC standards.
• Communicate schedule, budget, or quality issues to project leadership.
